Harold Brown (16 January 1912-22 September 2003) was a well known and respected local historian who lived all his life in Whitby. Harold was a member of local church choirs and male voice choirs, St John's Ambulance, Whitby Literary & Philosophical Society and Whitby Civic Society. The booklet was republished by his daughter Ann Gullon in 2005 and updated in 2021.
